What Draws People to Aime Leon Dore and Rick Owens

In case you ask a Rick Owens wearer the reason for wearing, you are unlikely to get a concise answer. So, the next time you ask a friend about Aime Leon Dore, they will most likely say a word about the cafe before the clothes. Both brands are not for brazen, splashy logos or hype. They’re selling emotion – and people will pay for it with blood! What really attracts them is the following.

To Confuse You Never Two Looks

Both of these can be seen from a distance. Clean and old-school New York, fosse interprète Aime Leon Dore, brimmed with vintage sportswear silhouettes and soft colours worn in. At the other end of the mood, Rick Owens is dark, but long, a little severe.

What is important is that neither of them ‘drift’. That deeply enamored attitude in Aime Leon Dore has been true for since 2014; that’s always been Rick Owens view since the nineties. People trust that. A brand that has a fixed point of view stands out, and that’s the one buyers stick with once new brands come and go; most brands will chase whatever sold the month prior.

The Story Sitting Behind the Clothes

Half the appeal of Aime Leon Dore is Teddy Santis himself. He founded the brand after naming it in honour of his family, striving to set up the brand around the Queens in which he had spent his formative years and adapting its colour and form from his own recollections of the city. It’s not a real ‘hoodie’ you’re buying. This is his New York that you purchase.

Rick Owens takes it one step further. His brand is really him on the outside, his sense and attitude, and that he’s done exactly that for decades. Fans feel it – that is why a large quantity of fans labels his clothes as ‘armour’ rather than ‘fashion.’ You place one on; not feeling yourself, but more yourself.

    A Crowd to Belong To

Here, Rick Owens does something that hardly any brand does. His followers are known as the Tribe – and they take their designation seriously. They don’t run out and purchase one item and keep going. Many people have a complete wardrobe of his creations and return next season, and they recognize his creations the moment they see them. His Paris exhibitions draw visitors who prepare costumes and step out onto the street outside to become their own fashion models.

Aime Leon Dore crafts the sense of belonging in a different, quieter manner. It placed a café beside its shop and turned it into a place where one wants to sit and sip a cup of coffee, as opposed to picking up a bag and walking off with it. That makes the brand a place you feel at home.

    Clothes That Actually Last

But if the clothes broke apart none of these possibilities would occur and they don’t. Aime Leon Dore cares about the fabric and the fineness – you can really feel it the minute you grab one of her pieces.

It is the same case with Rick Owens. The runway is pretty manic, but the non-manic stuff underneath is engineered to be worn out and shape maintained. It’s just that, as fans put it: the conceptual garbage from all the other labels is worn twice, and Rick’s is worn for years. This is a large reason for their continual return.

    The Easy Way In

Both the brands won’t make you plunge into the deep end. Most people make use of a cap or tee, dip their toes in the water, and fall for it, in this case merely Aime Leon Dore.

Correspondingly, Rick Owens has DRKSHDW, the gentler side of his universe, the more wear-able side. It allows an interested buyer to bounce before jumping right in. The doors are both open; a silent reason as to why the followings keep increasing.

So What Is the Real Pull?

Dress it down and it comes to conviction. Aime Leon Dore embraces with warmth and remembrance. Rick Owens beckons with edge and self-expression. Feeling opposite but the same underneath, a brand knows exactly itself and never blinks.

The clothing works fine, and there it’s easy! The world behind what they are signing up for is Aime Leon Dore and Rick Owens, and they are both worlds worth indoctrinating yourself to.
