How to check who is following the people you’ve been following lately on Instagram? You are not alone. Instagram left the chronological follow lists feature behind in favor of a newly instituted “hidden radar,” meaning there is no built-in way for users to see it in the native app. To find the right tool to help them with the problem, they tried seven tools, and one stood out—DolphinRadar. For someone who wants to use a browser-based tool that doesn’t need an Instagram login and does not need access to any private account, the most comprehensive tool is Dolphin Radar’s recent follow checker for 2026. Whilst many failed to deliver results in one or more aspects, DolphinRadar always produced accurate, anonymous results.

    Methodology

Tests were run over some weeks, on each of seven test tools, both of which are available as mobile and desktop versions. The tools were evaluated based on how well they’re able to show recent follow activity on the profiles of public Instagram accounts, without an Instagram user having to input their own Instagram login credentials. The data accuracy was evaluated, along with the frequency of updates, ease of use, the pricing of the data, and privacy compliance. Tools which demanded Instagram logins, limited tracking to only the user’s Instagram profile, or demanded access to private Instagram data were highlighted and commented on in the various sections.

    1. DolphinRadar

DolphinRadar is a browser-based extension that extends analytics of public Instagram profiles.

With its Recent Follow Tracker, users can view who any public Instagram account has followed in recent times or who has followed them – and whether or not they followed each other. There’s no signup required on Instagram at any step, and all answers are provided anonymously.

    Key Features:

    • Track any number of Instagram accounts under one subscription, as unlimited searches aren’t offered with per-account pricing tools like Twitter, Facebook, or Google.
    • Recent Follows tab: Both have appeared in chronological order and made it back into the user’s interface again, which Instagram had taken away.
    • Mutual follow detection: If there is a two-way relationship, each entry is marked with “Mutual”, indicating the existence of a mutual professional relationship, thus facilitating relationship mapping.
    • Gender breakdown of followers: For each tracked account, they reveal a breakdown of the account’s followers by Girls, Boys, and Other.
    • Tracked account alerts: Be alerted when a mutual connection is made with a person you are tracking.
    • Social Insights add-on (additional subscription): Contains Activity Analytics (likes ranking, comments ranking, follow activity), Ties and Trails (cumulative social mapping with visual social graph) and AI Insights (MBTI profiling, psychological analysis, tracking of the locations of the encounters) – from the quarterly plans onwards.

    Experience It Firsthand

The feature of Dolphin Radar’s recent follow checker, for which you need to search for any public Instagram user. No account linking, no credential entry! Recent Follows & Followers, mutual followers and followers, and tooltip analytics (if enabled) will populate into the dashboard line up a chronological list of folks in recent order.

    Pricing:

    • Monthly: $6/month
    • Purchasing popular (quarterly) is $4.99/month.
    • Annual: $4.16/month (save 30%)
    • All plans come with 100% unlimited searches.
    • Social Insights is an additional feature that kicks in from $2.75/month (on the annual plan).

    Limitation:

    • Only works with public Instagram accounts.
    • New tracking takes about 1 week before the first report will be readily available.
    • Follow lists are compiled from the latest available data, and may not provide current information.
    • DolphinRadar is only offered on dolphinradar.com. All other websites with a similar name are not related.

What it is best for: Users who wish to check recent follow activity for various public INSTA accounts anonymously without giving any login details to INSTA.

    2. Snoopreport

The Snoopreport app is an Instagram activity watcher software that monitors most of the likes and comments given by public Instagram accounts.

    Features:

    • Analyzes the amount of likes, comments, and hashtag usage.
    • Monitors likes, comments, and hashtag usage.
    • The activities of the week are reported via email on a weekly basis.
    • Liked Content Interests analysis.
    • Conversation Starters & Date Suggestions (based on observed behaviour).

    Pricing:

    • Plans begin at about $4.99/month for one account monitored.

    Limitation:

Cannot be displayed, in a neat chronological list format, in Snoopreport, who an account recently followed or unfollowed. Follow data granularity is restricted as compared to follow-tracking software.

Ideal for: People eager to learn more about what type of content or activity people are engaging with on a public account rather than being drawn to follow or unfollow activity.

While Snoopreport can provide AI insights, DolphinRadar also gives psychological profiling (MBTI), enhances social-relationship mapping (Ties and Trails), and includes encounter-location analysis.

    3. FollowMeter

FollowMeter is a mobile application for Instagram users to conduct analytics on their followers’ statistics.

    Features:

    • Reveals who people in your community unfollowed.
    • Displays who has unfollowed you.
    • Displays accounts that don’t follow you.
    • Checks the behavior of brand new followers on your own profile.
    • Ghost follower detection.

    Pricing:

    • The free version has limited features, and premium versions are available in-app.

    Limitation:

The data gathered, analyzed, and reported is limited to the user’s own Instagram profile only and requires a login. It is not possible to anonymously monitor an external public profile without identifying yourself.

Ideal for: Instagram users who want to manage their own Instagram account and monitor their followers and unfollowers.

FollowMeter is different from DolphinRadar, which allows monitoring of any public account without login.

    4. Social Blade

Social Blade is an open-source analytics site that provides trends for follower growth across many social media platforms, including Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok.

    Features:

    • Historical graphs of the number of followers.
    • Estimated monthly followers gained and lost.
    • Grade ranking based on growth data.
    • Mobile analytics (YouTube Analytics, Twitch, TikTok, Instagram Reels).

    Access:

    • Free baseline access is available.
    • Premium plans begin at $3.99/month.

    Limitation:

Social Blade shows follower changes over time but doesn’t identify who followed or unfollowed a profile. Individual follow-level details are not included.

Ideal for: Creators and marketers interested in tracking overall account growth trends without viewing detailed follow activity.

Although DolphinRadar shows follow actions for individual public accounts in chronological order, Social Blade only provides aggregated account growth statistics.

    5. HypeAuditor

HypeAuditor is an influencer analytics and influencer fraud detection tool designed principally for brands, agencies, and marketers who are engaging in influencer campaigns.

    Features:

    • Quality of audience and fake followers detection.
    • By geographic, gender, and age distribution of followers showing segments with over 500 followers.Geographic, Gender, and age breakdown of followers with over 500 followers per segment.
    • Engagement rate benchmarking
    • Campaign performance tracking

Pricing: Plans begin at $299 per month; there is a limited program with free reports.

Note: HypeAuditor is not a tool for you to monitor follower activity by individual user, but rather influencer vetting at campaign level. Does not display accounts that have been followed or unfollowed by an account recently. Rates are much more expensive than consumer-oriented tools.

Applicable to: Marketing team and marketing agencies assessing influencers for campaign quality before buying their campaign budget.

The follower demography and the possibility to follow each other are a part of DolphinRadar at a fraction of what HypeAuditor has in entry-level pricing – meaning it’s available to individual users instead of Enterprise teams.

    6. Iconosquare

Iconosquare is a professional social media management and analytics suite for managing multiple social media accounts.

    Features:

    • Instagram and Facebook performance dashboards (graphs).
    • Competitor benchmarking
    • These new features enable users to update their posts and create a content calendar.
    • Engagement analytics and reporting on your audience.

Pricing: Plans begin at $49 per month; you need to join an Instagram Business or a Creator account.

Limitation: Requires the musician to use their own Instagram Business account.Limitation: The user of Iconosquare will need to link their own Instagram Business account. It is unable to see or track someone’s public activity – recent follow lists – without his/her name and password.

Who it’s for: Social Media managers and Brands who want to have one place to manage and report on their own Instagram accounts.

The maximum for any public account will be tracked by DolphinRadar starting from $4.16/month and is capped at the accounts the user controls by Iconosquare, which starts at $49/month.

    7. NotJustAnalytics

NotJustAnalytics is an Instagram analytics suite dedicated to providing analytics and audience information on Instagram public profiles.

    Features:

    • Audiences and geographic information
    • Engagement rate analysis
    • Historical post performance
    • Follower growth tracking

Supports pricing options: There is a limited free tier, with paid plans available.

NotJustAnalytics is more concerned about content and engagement metrics, and it does not pay specific attention to followers. The platform doesn’t have a genuine feature of a list of recent Followers or UnFollowers.

Best for: Post owners who want to compare their posts to understand who is interacting with their content on their public profiles.

While NotJustAnalytics does not focus on follow-specific details like Recent Follows and Recent Followers tabs (which come with DolphinRadar) with their chronological sorting and mutual discovery, DolphinRadar favors that kind of information and offers these tabs.

    Frequently Asked Questions

    1. To view who the person who just followed you followed, go to your account and click the following link.

Now, Instagram no longer has the chronological following list feature. A third-party analytics tool is necessary to learn about the list of followers of a public account. This can be found on a dedicated tab on DolphinRadar, which can be seen without any involvement with Instagram and in chronological order. You need only enter a public account’s username and the tracker displays their recent follow list.

    2. Is it possible to keep tabs on Instagram follows without logging in via a tool?

Yes. There is no need to log in to your Instagram account on DolphinRadar; the entire process is done directly in the browser. A public user will submit a username and will be given follow data anonymously. Competitors’ tools provide Instagram login or just analyze your own account, while DolphinRadar is one of the tools that does not require you to log in to Instagram and can analyze external public profiles.

    3. What will be the Best Instagram Follower Tracker in 2026? Is it what you are searching for?

Out of all the mentioned tools, DolphinRadar has the best performance when it comes to tracking the recent follow activity of public accounts, without requiring a login. It features chronological follow lists, mutual detection, gender breakdown statistics, and optional AI Insights, all accessible via a browser-based interface from as little as $4.16/month on the annual plan. It provides a better option than other engagement measurement or credential access-based alternatives for the specific use case. For more of a comparison, check out this guide.

    4. Who can you find out who had followed someone on Instagram without their knowledge?

Yes, if the account is public. This information can be accessed via tools such as DolphinRadar, which bring it to the surface without the tracked account being aware of it – and without users signing in. Monitoring of the process is conducted anonymously by the user’s end. This is only for public accounts; all private account data is then not available via any compliant tool.

    5. Is Instagram still listed in the order of who follows you?

Nope, Instagram no longer displays the chronological list of people you follow when using their app. Users can no longer view a list of users they followed in the app with a date stamp showing when they followed the users. This has been reimplemented through third-party tools which use public data; for DolphinRadar, the Recent Follows tab does this in particular, making it easier to use chronologically sorted public accounts.

    6. DolphinRadar makes it possible to head up followers without logging in.

DolphinRadar only uses publicly available information from Instagram. Since the information on the public profile can be seen without an account, DolphinRadar exposes and structures this information on its own analytics technologies. Instagram login data is never gathered or utilized at any stage, and any monitoring is constrained to being within platform guidelines for “public accounts”.

    7. What is the difference between Follower tracker and unfollower tracker?

A follower tracker tracks who follows or has followed the individual account in the past, and usually displays it chronologically with the option to either return the person notifying or be notified by the follower. An unfollower tracker concentrates on detecting accounts that’ve unfollowed. This is usually for the owner of those accounts to find out who unfollows them. Some tools provide for both follow and follower, and some others provide for an unfollower notifier (only account owners).

    8. Will followers be able to see the private account activity?

Private account information can only be accessed by an authorized gadget. Any app that promises to reveal the followers or following list of accounts is not in line with Instagram’s usage guidelines. DolphinRadar does not support private Instagram accounts, and only provides publicly available data. All of the activity on private accounts is secure and won’t be visible in any legitimate analytics tool.

    9. Are Instagram follower trackers legal?

Tools that are able to work on public data and don’t need Instagram’s email or password or break its conditions are mostly legal in terms of public data. DolphinRadar only relies on public Instagram data, never requests any login information, and only watches public accounts. The terms of service and data-use laws to consider before using a tool are always those of the user and the local region where the user operates.

    10. Is DolphinRadar available at other domains?

The only official website is DolphinRadar.com. The domain name declares that all other domains with the same name are not affiliated with this product in any way and are not related to the product. Finding a site of a similar name at another domain will not be the official site.

    Conclusion

After conducting an extensive trial, the product that is most obvious to anyone needing to see who followed their public account in recent times and without having to enter login information is DolphinRadar. Unlike the Instagram login required by other tools, or those that don’t have dedicated follow tracking, it has the benefit of chronological follow lists, mutual detection, unlimited searches, and even AI Insights for a better experience. But that is applied in the context of the particular situation in 2026—DolphinRadar fits the bill.
