Actor Sinqua Walls Joins “Man of Tomorrow”

Sinqua Walls is the latest addition to Man of Tomorrow, the Superman sequel actively filming in Atlanta. DC Studios has declined to comment, and his character details are being kept tightly under wraps.

Walls first broke out in the 2000s TV classic Friday Night Lights. He recently starred in the Peacock limited series Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist, appearing alongside Kevin Hart, Samuel L. Jackson, Taraji P. Henson, and Don Cheadle.

On the film side, he led the Hulu remake of White Men Can’t Jump opposite Jack Harlow. He also appeared in the Netflix hit Carry-On as the best friend to Taron Egerton’s TSA agent, as well as the horror-comedy The Blackening. Landing a DCU role feels like a natural next step for a performer who has been quietly stacking credits.

Principal photography kicked off April 20, 2026, primarily at Trilith Studios in Fayetteville, Georgia, under the working title Exodus. In early May, Matthew Lillard and Walls joined the cast in undisclosed roles. Walls also joins recent newcomer Adria Arjona, who came aboard after screen-testing in Atlanta alongside Grace Van Patten, Sydney Chandler, and Eva De Dominici.

Man of Tomorrow will feature the return of David Corenswet’s Superman and Nicholas Hoult’s Lex Luthor. The duo will team up to face a bigger threat: Brainiac, played by Lars Eidinger. Also reprising their roles are Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Frank Grillo as Rick Flag Sr., and Aaron Pierre as John Stewart/Green Lantern.

“At its core, it’s about Clark and Lex,” Gunn described the film in a recent interview. “I relate to both of them. I relate to Lex’s ambition and obsession — minus the murder. And I relate to Superman’s belief in people, his Midwestern values.”

Personally, Man of Tomorrow is shaping up to be one of the more compelling superhero films in recent memory. The first Superman proved Gunn can balance heart with spectacle. It grossed over $618 million worldwide and earned an 83% Certified Fresh critics’ score alongside a 90% Verified Hot audience score.

That kind of goodwill is hard to manufacture. Now, with a premise built around two iconic rivals being forced to cooperate, the stakes feel genuinely fresh. Adding versatile actors like Walls, whose range spans drama, comedy, and action, signals Gunn is not just filling seats. He is building layers. The mystery around Walls’ role only sharpens the curiosity.

Man of Tomorrow is scheduled to enter theaters on July 9, 2027.
