Dua Lipa is suing Samsung for $15 Million dollars according to a new lawsuit filed Friday May 8th. The major TV retailer was using her face on packaging for some models of their TVs. The suit alleges that the electronics manufacturer used her likeness to sell TVs without paying her and without permission.

She’s suing for “copyright infringement, trademark infringement and violation of her right of publicity in order to obtain redress for the massive, continuing, unauthorized commercial exploitation of her valuable image and likeness.”

The photo was one that she owns the copyright to. It was taken backstage at the Austin City Limits Music Festival in 2024. Samsung displayed it on their packaging for various models of their televisions since 2025.

Not only that but there have been comments surrounding the television packaging that would imply that many of her fans may have purchased the TV because of the fact she’s on them.

“I wasn’t even planning on buying a tv but I saw the box so I decided to get it,” one comment read, while the complaint states that another fan posted that they would “get that tv just because Dua is on it.”

What will happen in this case? Well if Samsung wants a quiet solution they would likely have to pay her a hefty sum of money. We will keep an eye on how this plays out however. Stay Tuned!
