The Best Casino Games in the UK

Even with the UK’s stringent licensing laws, players are not exactly stuck for choice when it comes to games, or sites to play them at. Here we’ll take a quick look at what’s on the table, so as to speak, and which games are best.

    Types of online casino games

Hitting the lobby of an online casino might seem a bit overwhelming at first, what with the endless choice, but it breaks down pretty easily. First you have all the classic casino staples; card games like blackjack and baccarat, table games with roulette being the most popular, dice games such as craps, and of course, online slots.

This latter category is by far the most popular and it’s not surprising. Thanks to miracles of modern technology, playing slots games online is a whole different kettle of fish from spinning the reels on the one armed bandit in the corner of the pub.

All of the above, with the exception of slots, usually come in both RNG (Random Number Generator) and Live Dealer versions. But unique to the online casino world are Live Game Shows, which combine the digital and real world to create visual extravaganzas with betting options.

So what are the best casino games?

If by “best” you mean which games offer the biggest potential wins, it has to be progressive jackpot slots and Live Game Shows. But since the odds of actually hitting the top prize are negligible, it’s probably better to go a little deeper into the topic.

The best casino games then, depends on what you’re after; do you like to take the cerebral approach and apply a little strategy to boost your chances, does leaving it all to luck give you a thrill, or do you want an audio visual spectacle?

    Strategy

For anyone who likes to feel a bit more involved, strategy-based games are usually the go-to. Blackjack is the clear front runner here. There’s a bit of structure to it, and using a basic strategy chart can help guide decisions without overcomplicating things. Roulette can also fall into this bracket, depending on how it’s played. Spreading bets across larger sections of the table, like red or black, odd or even, won’t change the house edge, but it does lower the risk compared to going all in on a single number.

    Luck

Then you’ve got the games where it’s all down to chance. Slots are the main attraction here, along with those single-number roulette bets that either land or don’t. You’ve also got  card games like Andar Bahar and others; all quick, straightforward, and easy to dip in and out without needing to learn any rules or systems.

    Visual Appeal

If it’s more about the overall look and feel, there’s plenty to get stuck into. Modern slots come packed with detailed visuals and themes, while live dealer tables add that real-world touch with actual hosts and real-time play. Live game shows take it a step further, mixing studio setups with interactive features that feel closer to a TV production than a standard game.

At the end of the day, the best casino game comes down to personal taste. Some prefer a bit of structure, others stick with pure chance, and plenty just want something that looks good and runs smoothly.
