Rambo fans get ready! The franchise is expanding with a brand-new film in the works titled John Rambo. Our favorite action hero will be returning to the franchise blessing the upcoming film in a way only he can. It has been announced that Sylvester Stalone will be an executive producer on the prequel movie John Rambo.
This new film will explore the origins of John Rambo. First introduced in the 1982 film First Blood, the character weaves a story that fans of the franchise know very well. Along with tons of action this new film will explore Rambo’s younger years during the Vietnam war. Long before audiences met the hardened veteran played by Stallone himself.
This will be the first time that Stallone produces a Rambo movie. John Rambo will be serving as a prequel film to the other installments in the 44-year-old franchise. It’s important to note that Stallone was a writer on the previous five Rambo movies. He also directed the 2008 installment, Rambo.
This will be the sixth film in the franchise. In it, Noah Centineo takes over as Rambo. Directed by Jalmari Helander (Sisu), the film is currently filming in Bangkok, Thailand.
