Losing a phone number feels stressful. Work stops. Forms wait. Many users panic when OTP issues start. But help exists. This short guide explains how to download e-Aadhaar PDF if you lost your mobile number, in very simple steps. This works even if the registered phone is gone, the SIM is inactive, or the number is not linked.

The UIDAI system now gives multiple ways to download your Aadhaar PDF as a digital copy. These new features are safe, tested, and used daily.

Why Aadhaar Is Still Needed Without a Phone

Aadhaar is a 12-digit unique identification number. It is your primary proof of identity. Banks ask for it during bank verification. Offices need it for loan processing and government schemes. Many users need it for KYC, personal verification, and financial documentation.

When a phone is lost or an old phone number is closed, work gets delayed. Knowing how to retrieve an e-copy without OTP saves time and avoids delay.

What to Keep Ready Before Download

Some documents required are very basic. One valid detail is enough.

    • Aadhaar Number or UID, the unique number
    • Enrollment ID, also called EID, a 28-digit ID from the Aadhaar slip
    • Virtual ID or VID, a temporary 16-digit number
    • Access to Face Authentication using a webcam or phone camera
    • A DigiLocker Account if already linked Aadhaar

These details help start aadhar card download safely.

Download Using Enrollment ID and Face Scan

This is one of the most trusted methods. It works fully online.

    1.      Open the UIDAI e-Aadhaar download page on my aadhar.

    2.      Choose the Enrollment ID option.

    3.      Enter your EID, date, and time printed on the slip. Fill the security captcha.

    4.      Now choose Face Authentication instead of OTP. A small window opens for live face verification. The system checks your face using the camera. Once verified, the Aadhaar PDF is ready.

Example matters. If the EID is 1254/56779/012354 and the date is 05/01/2026 with time 14:37:00, enter it exactly.

This is one of the most secure methods and verified ways to get an Aadhar card copy.

Use Aadhaar Face RD App for Quick Access

The Aadhaar Face RD App, also called Face App, makes life easier. This is often the easiest way.

First install the app. Open it and tap Download Aadhaar option. Enter Aadhaar number, EID, or VID. Allow camera access. Do a simple face scan.

Your Aadhaar PDF is generated instantly. This helps when there is an urgent ID requirement for travel, loan, or government use.

    Get Aadhaar from DigiLocker Anytime

A DigiLocker login helps many people. If Aadhaar was linked earlier, no OTP verification is needed.

Open DigiLocker. Log in using username and PIN. Choose document source as UIDAI. Select the Aadhaar card. Click download instantly.

This method is fully online securely and works even with network errors or delay in message delivery.

Visit Aadhaar Seva Kendra If Online Fails

When online options fail, go offline. Visit the nearest Aadhaar Seva Kendra or enrollment center.

Carry original ID proof. Staff will check biometrics and give a printed Aadhaar letter. A small charge applies. The fee is around ₹50 to ₹100. An instant printed copy is provided.

Common Reasons People Use This Option

Many face lost SIM card issues. Some had old Aadhaar enrollment where phones were never added. Others face network errors during OTP. Many need fast Aadhaar verification for identity checks.

    Common Mistakes to Avoid

Avoid wrong date or wrong time from the slip. Do not upload an unclear face image. Always use the latest Aadhaar Face RD App. Remember the Aadhaar PDF password is your name, first 4 letters, plus birth year.

These small details save time and protect security and availability both with registered mobile and without mobile, using Face, with OTP verification not required and better ease of use.
