“Sinners” Breaks Oscars Record with 16 Nominations

Ryan Coogler‘s “Sinners” has broken the Oscars record for the most nominations for a single film with 16. “One Battle After Another” nabbed 13, while “Frankenstein,” “Marty Supreme,” and “Sentimental Value” ended up with 9 each. “Wicked For Good” was actually completely shut out from the nominations, which seems to be a big surprise.

With his Best Actor nomination, Timothée Chalamet has tied Marlon Brando as the youngest actor to receive 3 leading man nods.

    “Tron: Ares”

While it wasn’t a great film or anything, we’re actually surprised “Tron: Ares” didn’t get a nomination for visual effects, which were very impressive.

Conan O’Brien returns to host the 98th annual Academy Awards ceremony on Sunday, March 15th, 2026. It will air on ABC and Hulu starting at 4pm (Pacific).

Here are the main category nominations for 2026. You can see the full list on the Academy’s website here.

She eventually transitioned to online media, writing for such sites as UGO/IGN, ComicsOnline, Geek Magazine, Ace of Geeks, Aggressive Comix (where she is still Editor-in-Chief), Bleeding Cool (where she was News Editor), and now Nerdbot as Editor-In-Chief. Over the past 10 years, she’s built a reputation at conventions across the globe as a cosplayer (occasionally), photographer (constantly), panelist and moderator (mostly), and reporter (always).
