What a time Ryan Gosling is having! Not only do we get to see him in “Project Hail Mary” in March, but, he fulfilled many a fan’s dream by starring in an upcoming “Star Wars” film. Turns out that incredible chapter wasn’t everything, either, as the King of Movie Running showed up, and even filmed a lightsaber battle.

We’re talking about Ethan Hunt. Maverick. Jack Reacher- Tom Cruise.

A report from the New York Times reveals the bonafide movie star stopped by Shawn Levy‘s set, and ended up “filming one of the lightsaber duels.” Apparently Cruise landed his helicopter on set while the crew blasted the “Mission: Impossible” theme. How perfect. He was just there watch, but, Levy jokingly suggested Cruise pick up a camera and film parts of that day’s sequence- a lightsaber battle in the water.

Ol Tom is no stranger to swords, starting his fabled film career in a little flick by one Ridley Scott called “Legend.” He also of course starred in “The Last Samurai.”

“Now when you see the movie, you’ll know that part of it was shot by Tom,” Levy said. “I mean, how cool is that?”

    How cool indeed.

“Star Wars: Starfighter” is scheduled to hit theaters in May 28th, 2027.
