These tracks are used to control the direction of the door and ensure that the door goes smoothly and safely.

The tracks of the commercial doors, which are larger, heavier, and used more often than the residential doors, need to sustain high stress. This enhances efficiency in operations, reduces downtimes, and assists in ensuring that there is uniformity in workflow across the facility.

    Avoiding Long-term Structural Problems

    The application of lightweight or thin-gauge tracks in a business environment may cause structural issues that may last a long time. With time, the tracks can change, bend, or create gaps, which can influence the alignment of the door. These problems exert pressure on other parts of the garage doors, such as the garage door opener, torsion springs, and rollers. These complications are avoided by heavy-gauge tracks, which retain their shape and alignment.

    The stability of heavy-gauge garage rails is important in facilities where the doors are opened at high speeds (or are opened many times in order to provide ventilation or access), as this is critical to ensure the entire system does not have a structural issue.
