Between Winnie the Pooh, Peter Pan, Popeye, and others, the turning beloved public domain characters into killers trend, was shaping up to be a real sausage fest. Joining the ranks of her main squeeze, Mickey, with “Screamboat,” Minnie Mouse is getting her own slasher! “Minnie’s Midnight Massacre” will be executive produced by the executive producers of “Winnie the Pooh Blood and Honey,” Stuart Alson and Nicole Holland.
However, it’s unclear if this film will be an official entry into the Poohniverse at this time.
This new, mature take on the children’s character will have her going on a killing spree. Exacting her revenge against the bullies who tortured her as a teen.
The movie is written and directed by Brett Bentman (“90 Feet From Home”). “We wanted to bring the black and white sidekick to life,” the filmmaker told Deadline. “We’d see Willie in all these reimaginings, but what about Minnie? Why not give her some spotlight?”
Hannah Hueston (“Airplane 2025”) will lead the cast, with Tiffany McDonald and Derrick Redford producing.
