Wise Acre Comics & Ratti Entertainment Launch Kickstarter Pre-Launch Campaign for Award-Winning Martial Arts Thriller

BLACK SALT: THE LAST HEROES LEFT

Wise Acre Comics and Ratti Entertainment have launched the Kickstarter pre-launch campaign for Black Salt: The Last Heroes Left, a gripping martial arts comic book series that blends ancient Shaolin tradition with high-stakes modern warfare. Backers can now hit the “Notify Me” button to follow the campaign ahead of its official launch and support the creation of Issue #5 in the six-part series. It doesn’t commit you to backing the project (though I hope you will.) It’s just a big help to us for getting the Black Salt series notice.

“The goal is to complete the comic book series and build a franchise-ready, bankable IP in the espionage and martial arts action genre,” says Owen Ratliff, creator and producer of Black Salt. “It’s a niche genre with a massive global fan base—and we’re just getting started.”

    About the Comic:

Black Salt: The Last Heroes Left follows Samuel Lincoln Tharpe, an elite Interpol agent code-named Black Salt, as he faces off against a rogue Shaolin Master armed with a retrovirus capable of ethnic-specific genocide. Haunted by loss and driven by vengeance, Sam must unravel a conspiracy that threatens the world—and confront a past the Shaolin Temple never meant to resurface.

    • Genre: Martial Arts | Action | Espionage | Sci-Fi
    • Issue #5 is in development; Issues #1–4 is completed
    • Campaign awarded a “Project We Love” badge by Kickstarter
    • Based on the HBO 30-minute award-winning Black Salt short film

    Why It Matters:

    • Black Salt isn’t just a comic—it’s a bold vision for a multimedia universe. From comics and film to gaming and merchandise, the franchise is poised to tap into the thriving martial arts entertainment market. With global appeal and an untold cultural depth, this is more than a story—it’s a movement.
