How to Prepare For A 24-Hour Gaming Session

Readying yourself for a mammoth 24-hour gaming session? Whether you’re planning to play a much-anticipated game straight through or your reasons for such a long stint at your gaming desk are more noble (charity, for instance), you’ll want to be well-prepared before you start.

In this guide, get ready to learn the best ways to prepare to game for 24 hours straight. Trust us, you’re not going to last past the 12-hour mark without following these steps.

Stock Up On Medications In Advance

We’re starting with a boring but essential one here: you want to stay well (even if you’re not sleeping) throughout your gaming session, and that means stocking up on any medications you take regularly.

You don’t want to be stuck in the middle of a marathon gaming session—literally—without your prescription. An online pharmacy like www.hightownpharmacy.co.uk can deliver what you need right to your door, so you can just focus on gaming.

    Meal Prep & Prepare Snacks

You’ll need to fuel your body if you want any chance of even staying awake for 24 hours, let alone focused on the game. So make sure you’re well prepared with snacks and meals ready to eat.

Choose foods that are easy to grab and go, like protein bars, sandwiches, granola, or fruit. We know, takeaways and bags of chips are the tempting option here, but if you want to feel slightly less gross than you already will after 24 hours in your gaming chair, it’s best to meal prep some healthy dishes in advance.

You’ll want to stay hydrated too, so keep water within arm’s reach. If you’re planning on fueling up with caffeine, make sure to pace yourself so you don’t crash later.

    Make Your Space Comfortable

If even spending a couple of hours gaming leaves you with aches and pains, think about how you’ll feel at the end of a full day in pretty much the same position. Your body will thank you if you set up a comfortable gaming space.

With that in mind, you’ll need a good chair with back support before you even think about gaming for 24 hours straight. You’ll also want to schedule in time for taking breaks to stretch and move around every few hours. Plus, make sure to position your monitor so your eyes aren’t straining to look up or down. If you’re using a controller, make sure your setup lets you hold it comfortably.

    Set Your Plans in Stone

When you’re all ready to start, the final step is to let people know you’re gaming so you can avoid getting interrupted mid-flow. That goes for virtual interruptions, too: remember to silence the notifications on your phone and close any tabs you don’t need on your computer. The fewer distractions you have, the easier it’ll be to stay focused and enjoy your session.

A 24-hour gaming session might sound like your idea of heaven, but it’s actually a pretty intense commitment. Make sure you don’t burn out by trying to do too much, and if you need a power nap to make it through to the end, just take it.
