Are you bummed that the release of “The Batman 2” has been pushed back to October, 2027? Well for those who can’t get enough of the Caped Crusader, State Farm is here to help fill the void. The insurance company has launched a new ad campaign centered around the legendary DC Comics character.

In the new commercial Jason Bateman (“Carry-On”) stars as “Bate-man,” an inferior version of Batman. The dime-store crime fighter Mr. Magoos his way through several classic situations for the Dark Knight, like watching Catwoman (SZA) pull off a heist. Shockingly, him asking her politely to stop did nothing to deter her thievery!
He tries to rescue streamer/rapper/actor Kai Cenat from being tied up by glowing green tubes for…some reason…We even get some fun cameos by other classic Batman villains like The Joker, Two Face, Poison Ivy, and The Riddler.

Most of Bate-Man’s attempts to be heroic are intercepted by the “real” Batman, Will Arnett reprising his role from “The Lego Movie.” The action hero and Commissioner Gordon (Jordan Howlett) both seem annoyed that he keep stumbling into their active crime scenes.
Why Bate-Man?

Now you may be asking yourself; “What does this have to do with insurance?” The answer is; precious little. The sardonic antics of Bate-Man are being used to represent other, inferior, insurance companies. And how having State Farm insure you is more like having the real Batman by your side.
