Villa Vie Residences is offering a unique residential cruise package where people can join for up to four years. Travelers who choose to do the whole shebang will be able to visit over 140 countries, stopping in 425 ports. The deal is being marketed as an “Escape from Reality” program for those unhappy with the United States Presidential election results.

“We came up with this marketing campaign before we even knew who would win,” Mikael Petterson, CEO, explained to Newsweek. “Regardless of who would have won, you would have half of the population upset. Quite frankly, we don’t have a political view one way or the other. We just wanted to give people who feel threatened to have a way to get out.”

    The Packages

Four different options are offered under this  “Escape from Reality” campaign; one year, “Mid-term Selection” for two years, “Everywhere but Home” for three, and the full “Skip Forward” for four years deal. But the high seas don’t offer much of an escape from ever-rising inflation.

According to the company’s website, the cost for the latter package is $256,000 for a single occupant or $320,000 for two. While the one year offer runs $80,000 for one person and $50,000 per person for more. Despite the lofty price tags, Petterson says that the company is already seeing a “huge uptick” in calls and leads.

The trip aboard the Villa Vie Odyssey will start in the Caribbean for a month. Then it will spend four months in South America with two Panama Canal transits, two World Wonders, the Chilean Fjords, an Antarctic sail-by, Carnival in Rio, and an eight-day journey to the Amazon River.

These offers also include a free first medical consultation, bi-weekly housekeeping services, and high-speed internet. All food and drinks are included along with the package price.

Villa Vie Residences is no stranger to extended cruises either. The company just entered the second month of its viral 15-year cruise which will visit all seven continents.

“I think the world cruising market is growing and growing and having the ability to completely disconnect from the world and still be connected with our internet and Wi-Fi and invite your friends on board,” says Petterson. “It really helps your ability to really live this lifestyle and still stay connected with your friends and family.”
