Turkish Theme Park Announces Plans for Star Trek Area

As the galactic dust settles from Walt Disney World’s “Star Wars” inspired fully immersive hotel experience, many have been asking “what’s next?.” The answer, apparently, is The Land of Legends theme park in Antalya, Turkey, and their recently announced “Star Trek” 5D concept.

    “Star Trek: Wild Galaxy”

Located in the The Land of Legends area, “Star Trek: Wild Galaxy” takes its cues from the “Star Trek: Prodigy” animated series. It will have some fellow CBS Paramount property neighbors, including “Bikini Bottom” from “SpongeBob SquarePants,” and “Adventure Bay” from “PAW Patrol.”

The 5D attraction will feature an adventure set on the USS Aurora. The screen “will act as the open back door of the space shuttle and guests will be taken on a 15-minute journey through space.”

You’re part of the starship crew! Disinfect yourself before entering the room and then take your time to examine the spacesuits, weapons and vehicles. On the screens inside the room, you’ll meet Dal and his friends from the USS Protostar. The most extraordinary space experience awaits you in Airlock!

This is pretty exciting, and we’re curious to see how it plays out. Oh, how we miss the days of Star Trek: The Experience in Las Vegas. It was so ahead of it’s time. We’ll let you know what we hear about this and other news.

We had an amazing time helping out an incredible team create such an awesome attraction. A lot of love and joy was put into it, along with a little Murf. Can't way to hear more about it. #StarTrekProdigy

Mary Anne Butler (Mab) has been part of the fast-paced world of journalism since she was 15, getting her start in album reviews and live concert coverage for a nationally published (print) music magazine. She eventually transitioned to online media, writing for such sites as UGO/IGN, ComicsOnline, Geek Magazine, Ace of Geeks, Aggressive Comix (where she is still Editor-in-Chief), Bleeding Cool (where she was News Editor), and now Nerdbot as Editor-In-Chief. Over the past 10 years, she’s built a reputation at conventions across the globe as a cosplayer (occasionally), photographer (constantly), panelist and moderator (mostly), and reporter (always). Interviews, reviews, observations, breaking news, and objective reporting are the name of the game for the founder of Harkonnen Knife Fight, a Dune-themed band with an international presence. Though she be but little, she is fierce.
