It normally takes longer the first time you conduct Umrah because you are not as accustomed to the process. The majority of tour operators offer Umrah packages that last between seven and thirty days, but the entire Umrah can be completed in less than a day from the moment one enters the Ihram until their hair is cut or trimmed.

What procedures are involved in doing the Umrah?

Putting on Ihram and performing niyyah.

    Perform Ghusl

Sunnah strongly advised it to perform Ghusl before assuming Ihram. It’s also advised to trim any extra body hair and to cut your nails. This needs to be done before you leave your house because you’ll be taking an international flight. Men might also want to dab attar or perfume onto their beards or heads taking care not to get any on their ihram clothes.

    Put your Ihram on.

Men should cover their upper body with one white sheet and wrap the other around their waist. Wearing a hat or turban is not acceptable and sandals that don’t cover the ankles are acceptable. Ladies are expected to dress normally however, they are not allowed to cover their faces or wear gloves. Make sure that before crossing the Miqat you put on your Ihram clothing. Since you’ll probably be flying to Saudi Arabia you should put on your ihram at the airport before you take off or if you have one during a layover.

    Offer up Salah al-Ihram

Before going into the state of Ihram, it is customary to perform two Rakahs of Salah. If the aircraft has prayer facilities, one may choose to pray while in flight or after changing at the airport and before crossing the Miqat. If you want to do two Rakahs Nafl for Ihram then observe the prayer. While other Surahs may be read, it is advised to recite Sural al-Kafirun (109) in the first Rakah and Surah al-Ikhlas (Surah 112) in the second.

    Set out to perform Umrah

The Miqaat is passed 20–30 minutes before landing for travelers arriving from the UK or other countries. At this point, one must recite Talbiyyah to indicate their intention to perform Umrah. It is appropriate for men to recite this aloud without disturbing others and for women to recite it quietly.

    Ihram

The airport where your flight originates is the appropriate place to wear an ihram if you are traveling by direct flight. You are allowed to wear an ihram when using a transit stop.

Before they enter Meeqat some flight captains declare that passengers must wear ihram. You can change into your ihram in the flight restroom after the announcement. Once you get to the airport in Jeddah. The Jeddah airport has two terminals. To get to your Makkah hotel (the Al-HARAM Mosque) you should take a cab. You have the option of booking a fully paid or shared taxi. Once you’ve arrived at your hotel. Besides eating some food, you can get assistance from the receptionist.

    Tawaf

You do the Tawaf around the Kaaba also known as the House of Allah once you arrive at the Al-Haram Mosque. Tawaf is the seven-time circumambulation of the Kaaba. Following the Tawaf, you will offer two nafl prayers in front of Maqam e Ibrahim. After that, you’ll sip the Zamzam water.

    Sai

Walk quickly between the Safa and Marwa Hills to execute the Sai. Cutting off or shaving your hair: After that, you’ll clip your hair if you’re a girl and shave it if you’re a guy. These procedures conclude your Umrah.

    Bottom Line

Even while Umrah is not mandated by all Islamic schools, it is highly recommended, which is why it is frequently called the minor pilgrimage.  Both the Shafiis and the Hanbalis assert that it is required. Unlike Ḥajj which could take several days, it can usually be finished in a few hours. Furthermore, it is not meant to be seen as a replacement for the Hajj. Both though, serve as symbols of the Muslim people’s unity and submission to Allah (God). So, be ready to experience this sacred obligation while choosing 7 Nights 4 Star Umrah package.
