Diego Luna Teases “Rogue One” Characters in “Andor” s2

While X (formerly Twitter) is showing the spectrum of “Star Wars” fandom these days, we can all agree that “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” is awesome, right? Not only did it introduce incredible new characters, but it gave more meaning and weight to the story we know and love in “Episode IV: A New Hope” and beyond. When Disney+ first announced plans for a prequel series set before Gareth Edwards‘ stellar film, we were excited. More Diego Luna as Cassian Andor? Yes, please. The possibly of additional characters from “Rogue One” returning too? Hell yes.

Here we are, anxiously awaiting season 2 of “Andor,” and we’re hanging on every bit of info we can find about it. Which brings us to Luna’s recent appearance at ACE Superhero Comic Con, where he answered some fan questions.

    Diego Luna “Andor” Disney+

“I can tell you, Rogue One is coming, so there will be characters there that you will recognize. There will be cool stuff,” Luna said. “For those who love Rogue One, this season is going to be very special. And it’s going to be fascinating to go straight to Rogue One after watching this second season, because you will see Rogue One from a different perspective. I promise you that.”

That could mean so many things!

Will we maybe get more of our favorite Director of  Imperial Military Department of Advanced Weapons Research, Orson Krennic (Ben Mendelsohn)! Or maybe scientist Galen Erso (Mads Mikkelson)! Or, hear us out- maybe even Baze Malbus (Wen Jiang) and Chirruit Imwe (Donnie Yen)?! One could only hope.

There isn’t a known release date for Season 2 of “Andor” yet, but we’re hoping to get some solid news soon. You can watch season 1 on Disney+ now, or pick up the amazing 4K physical release here.

Mary Anne Butler (Mab) has been part of the fast-paced world of journalism since she was 15, getting her start in album reviews and live concert coverage for a nationally published (print) music magazine. She eventually transitioned to online media, writing for such sites as UGO/IGN, ComicsOnline, Geek Magazine, Ace of Geeks, Aggressive Comix (where she is still Editor-in-Chief), Bleeding Cool (where she was News Editor), and now Nerdbot as Editor-In-Chief. Over the past 10 years, she’s built a reputation at conventions across the globe as a cosplayer (occasionally), photographer (constantly), panelist and moderator (mostly), and reporter (always). Interviews, reviews, observations, breaking news, and objective reporting are the name of the game for the founder of Harkonnen Knife Fight, a Dune-themed band with an international presence. Though she be but little, she is fierce.
