The 1996 film “Happy Gilmore” is set to receive a sequel courtesy of Netflix. Adam Sandler will be reprising his role. This news arrived during Netflix’s upfronts, which took place May 15th in New York. The announcement sent ripples of excitement through fans of this iconic golf comedy that has stood the test of time. Seriously, who doesn’t remember when Sandler yells at the ball to “Get in its home.”

90s comedy mainstay Sandler starred in the original “Happy Gilmore,” which he also co-wrote. Dennis Dugan directed. The pair created a film that has remained one of Sandler’s most well-received and popular works over the past two decades.

In “Happy Gilmore,” Adam Sandler played the title character. He is introduced in the film as a hockey player with anger management issues, a flaw that often lands him frustrating situations. In order to save his grandma’s house, he enters a golf tournament where he meets his foe – the smug and arrogant professional golfer, Shooter McGavin. Christopher McDonald brilliantly played the role of his golf rival, which made the film even better.

Plot, casting, and other details are currently still under wraps. We’ll let you know what we hear about this and other news. The first film is currently available to stream on Netflix.
