    Netflix Launches Platform Sequel: What to Expect

    Didn’t wait for the Platform to return? Many will be surprised by the return of the prison dystopia. After all, viewers could claim the first film has a logical ending. The director of the first part thinks differently. Galder Gaztelu-Urrutoa will direct the second part as well. And here’s what you need to know.

    What’s the difference between Platform and Platform 2

    The Platform dates back to 2020. The sci-fi thriller is based on a story by David Desola. Before watching the movie, you can familiarize yourself with his works. His publications will either mesmerize you or scare you away. Or you can read reviews on his works. Visit our site to reassure you are fond of this genre. Here, you will get compelling answers to your specific inquiries.

    Overall, the Platform is an intriguing thriller that soon became the streamer’s most popular Spanish film. Spoiler Alert! It is set in a towering vertical jail. Two convicts get allocated to each level. They must deal with the difficulties of the platform with food that descends.

    Platform 2 is the sequel to the previous film. It continues the tale of the characters in the same environment. It’s not gonna change the general concept. So, dear fans, don’t worry! You’ll again see consumption for survival. The sequel is set to be released on Netflix later this year. Specific release date has not been established yet.

    Why it’s a must-see movie

    We’re talking about a highly successful film and its continuation. The social-issue horror-thriller has already gained considerable popularity. Basque Films produced the first part and will work on the sequel. You’ll get a chance to see your favorite actors, like Hovik Keuchkerian and Milena Smit. You’ll also see Bilbao and Barakaldo. This setting introduces you to a distinctive and quickly rising industrial hub. Furthermore, the film has achieved international attention. It received a ranking as Netflix’s fourth most-watched non-English-language film of all time.

    So, the shared perks are:

    • Sequel to well-known and successful movie;
    • Continuation to critically appraised and acclaimed film;
    • Combination of societal satire, narrative twists, and dark comedy;
    • The same director. It marks the sequel’s quality;
    • New cast members. They definitely heighten interest for the picture;
    • Premiere on Netflix. This fact makes it a widely anticipated addition to the streaming service.

    Each of these factors contribute to an engaging and notable picture to wait for and watch. If that’s not enough for you, then you are an extremely sophisticated audience. Don’t be disappointed! There are still plenty of new movies to enjoy in the world of Netflix.

    What expectations to hold

    Fans may anticipate The Platform 2 to develop a central idea. You’ll delve into the dystopian environment once more. You’ll also feel that suspense to forecast what will happen next. It’s about bloodthirstiness, meanness, treachery, and selfishness. You’ll discover all evils of human nature. Feel free to enter the gloomy and provocative subjects.

    If you haven’t seen the first part, please do. Otherwise, you’ll miss the essential context and knowledge. The Platform and The Platform 2 are not appropriate for all viewers. Films are not for those sensitive to brutal violence, conflicts, intense issues, and social criticism. These films will suit mature viewers who enjoy thought-provoking, dystopian stories.

    Concerns regarding the sequel stem from the original film’s completeness. The director created a distinctive plot and delivered the core message. We could observe no open ending. Still, the return of the original director and new cast members are encouraging signals. The author’s desire shows the picture has sufficient inspiration.

    Keeping cautious enthusiasm

    So, stock up on popcorn. You won’t have to wait long. Follow the releases and don’t miss out Platform 2. That’s a fresh and intriguing venture to look forward to.
