Actor/rapper Donald Glover aka Childish Gambino has a lot of irons in the fire with Amazon Primeās āMr. and Mrs. Smith,ā the long awaited āCommunityā movie, an upcoming anime, and the cartoon āCountry Mouse, City Mouse.ā
He even squeezed in a surprise appearance during Tyler, the Creatorās headlining set at Coachella last weekend. Now, Glover is adding not one but two new albums into the mix!

During an interview on Instagram Live with Gilga, Glover revealed the upcoming musical projects. The first album will be a ‘finished’ version of his fourth studio album, āAtavista.ā This project was quietly released in March 2020, at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, so it wasnāt mixed or mastered.Ā
The Final Childish Gambino Album
The second project will also be his last Childish Gambino album. It will serve as the soundtrack to his upcoming film āBando Storm and the New World.ā Glover says he drew inspiration for the record from soundtracks like 1989ās āBatmanā scored entirely by the late Prince. As well as the 1995 āBatman Foreverā soundtrack that includes Sealās mega-hit āKiss From a Rose.ā
āThe project I put out, ā3.15.20ā that no oneās ever heard of, people didnāt even know I put it out, it was originally titled āAtavista,ā it was supposed to be āAtavista,āā Glover explained. āBut we put it out quickly, I didnāt master or mix it, I just kind of put it out. I was going through a lot, nās thought everybody was going to die because it was the pandemic. We put it out, we finished it, itās āAtavista,ā weāre putting that out. But then after that, thereās a Childish Gambino album, the final Childish Gambino album.ā
