Transformers and G.I. Joe have been staple franchises for decades. Both have been successful enough to warrant popular animated series, and their blockbuster film franchises. Not to mention all the toys and comics. Since the release of “Transformers: Rise of the Beasts,” there have been speculations on what is next for both.

Paramount Pictures confirmed a “Transformers“-“G.I. Joe” crossover movie is in the works. The concept for the film comes from storyline published by Marvel in the 1980s. Paramount Pictures CEO Brian Robbins confirmed the studio is behind the film at CinemaCon in Las Vegas.
Legendary filmmaker Steven Spielberg will be executive producing. There is no set director at this time, despite the idea coming from “Rise of the Beasts” director Steven Cape Jr. “Transformers” producer Lorenzo Di Bonaventura is returning with Mark Vahradian, Michael Bay, Tom DeSanto, and Don Murphy to produce.
On the whole, this sounds like it has potential to be a hit. We have no idea how this will actually play out, but we are hopeful. The comics were made in the late 80s and the story spanned 4 books. So there is a lot of source material to work with.
We can’t wait to learn about the casting for this project. Maybe some actors will return for this new project, or we could see a new cast. We will follow this story and report when more information becomes available.
