Filmmaker Ti West (“House of The Devil”) is bringing his X trilogy to an end with “MaXXXine.” A24 had just released the first blood-soaked trailer, with star Mia Goth (“Infinity Pool”) decked out in ‘80s galm.

“MaXXXine,” will follow 2022’s “X” and “Pearl” both starring Goth as Pearl and recurring character Maxine Minx. The new film will take place in 1985 and have Maxine make her way to Los Angeles to pursue fame. As the now adult film sensation attempts to crossover into more mainstream work, she must contend with a serial killer stalking Hollywood starlets. The killer’s trail of blood and corpses threatens to reveal the young actress’ sinister past.

Goth will star alongside Halsey (“Sing 2”), Kevin Bacon (“Leave The World Behind”), Giancarlo Esposito (“Abigail”), and Elizabeth Debicki (“The Crown”). As well as Lily Collins (“Emily in Paris”), Michelle Monaghan (“The Family Plan”), Bobby Cannavale (“Old Dads”), and Moses Sumney (“The Idol”).

Goth is already touting “MaXXXine” as “the best movie of the three,” movies. Saying it has “the best script of the three by far.” “It’s the biggest story of the three with the highest stakes and Maxine has gone through so much at this point,” she told Variety. “So when we find her in this new world, she’s just a force to be reckoned with and she goes through some pretty wild adventures.”

“MaXXXine” will hit theaters on July 5th, you can check out the first trailer below. “X” and “Pearl” are both streaming on Showtime, Paramount +, and Hoopla.
