Ah yes, the sequel we are definitely not looking forward to from director Todd Phillips is gearing up for a trailer release later this month. We’re talking of course about “Joker: Foile à Deux,” which will see the return of Oscar winner Joaquin Phoenix as the Clown Prince of Crime.
He’ll be joined this time around by Lady Gaga, who will be playing the one and only Dr. Harleen Quinzel, aka Harley Quinn, to the picture. This morning, Warner Bros. Pictures released a brand new official poster for the film.
Obviously you can see the pair’s clown makeup on full display there. To us, it takes some cues from the iconic Alex Ross “Tango with Evil” piece.
In the first film, Arthur Fleck (Phoenix) is an aspiring comedian battling some serious mental health issues. We watch as he slowly slides down the rabbit hole of becoming one of DC Comics’ most notorious villains, The Joker. The sequel will introduce the character’s longtime henchwoman/girlfriend/punching bag Harley Quinn.
As far as the title, Folie à Deux is a medical term that refers to an identical or similar mental disorder that affects 2 or more individuals at the same time. We also know this film will be a jukebox musical, featuring at least 15 cover songs and some original works.
“Joker: Foile à Deux” is set to hit theaters October 4th, 2024. A trailer is coming on April 9th. We’ll make sure we post it when it does.
