We can all agree that Dan Trachtenberg‘s take on the classic galactic hunter “Predator” was great, right? Like, truly great? 2022’s “Prey” was the perfect way to reintroduce/reinvigorate a not-quite-stagnant but not-quite-exciting-anymore franchise. And, luckily for fans of that film, we’re getting another one!
Announced today, Trachtenberg (“10 Cloverfield Lane“) is currently developing another film in the “Predator” universe. Called “Badlands,” it will NOT be a sequel to “Prey,” but will also have a female lead. At present, details about casting and/or plot are being kept very hush-hush.
We’ll also be getting Noah Hawley‘s (“Fargo,” “Legion“) “Alien“ tv series and Fede Álvarez‘s (“Evil Dead” 2013, “Don’t Breathe“) “Alien: Romulus” soon. “Romulus” is eyeing a August 13th, 2024 theatrical release, while the tv series is likely to hit FX sometime in 2025.
We’ll let you know what we hear about this and other projects.
