This is some pretty big zombie news, you guys. One of the projects we’ve really been looking forward to over the last several years is a third entry into the “28 Days Later” franchise. Obviously we already had “28 Weeks,” but what about “28 Years Later?!” It’s a project both writer Alex Garland (“Dredd,” “Ex Machnia“) and director Danny Boyle (“Trainspotting,” “Pistol“) have been toying with for sometime. The last five years in fact the pair have mentioned a renewed interest in actually making it.
Turns out, we’re getting even MORE than that.
According to industry sources, “28 Years Later” is being shopped to studios and streamers later this month as a package. The other contents? The possibility of a new trilogy of films, the first of which Boyle would direct. Garland would write all three.
As of 2023, Garland said he had a completed script for “28 Years Later.” Garland’s next film, “Civil War,” is due out in theaters April 26th, 2024.
This is still in the early stages, so, we hope to learn more soon.

Mary Anne Butler
Mary Anne Butler (Mab) has been part of the fast-paced world of journalism since she was 15, getting her start in album reviews and live concert coverage for a nationally published (print) music magazine. She eventually transitioned to online media, writing for such sites as UGO/IGN, ComicsOnline, Geek Magazine, Ace of Geeks, Aggressive Comix (where she is still Editor-in-Chief), Bleeding Cool (where she was News Editor), and now Nerdbot as Editor-In-Chief. Over the past 10 years, she’s built a reputation at conventions across the globe as a cosplayer (occasionally), photographer (constantly), panelist and moderator (mostly), and reporter (always). Interviews, reviews, observations, breaking news, and objective reporting are the name of the game for the founder of Harkonnen Knife Fight, a Dune-themed band with an international presence. Though she be but little, she is fierce.
