The first teaser for 20th Century Studios’ “Kingdom in the Planet of the Apes” film has been released. The project was first announced by Fox in 2019. In 2022, the title and concept art for the fourth Apes installment were revealed, giving fans a glimpse of what’s to come. Early reports indicated this would be a story taking place decades (it not hundreds of years after the first trilogy), but that isn’t the case.
We were curious what storyline this film was going to take, as Caesar, the main character, died at the end of the third film. “Kingdom” will follow Caesar and Brighteye’s son, Cornelius, as he struggles to carry on his father’s legacy.
Owen Teague plays Cornelius, both voice and motion capture. He’s joined by Kevin Durand, Freya Allen, William H. Macy, and Peter Macon.
“The Maze Runner” helmer Wes Ball directs from a screenplay by Josh Friedman, Rick Jaffa, Amanda Silver, and Patrick Aison.
“Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes” is set for a May 24, 2024 release. Check out the first teaser now:
