    FX’s “Shōgun” Revival Gets First Trailer, 2024 Release

    It was one of the great television events- “Shōgun.” The 1980 5-part mini series was based on James Clavell‘s 1975 novel of the same name, and captivated audiences. The revival finished filming in 2022, and we’re finally getting our first look at it.

    Hiroyuki Sanada (“Sunshine,” “Westworld“) stars as Lord Yoshii Toranaga, who is fighting for his life as his enemies on the Council of Regents unite against him. Anna Sawai stars as Toda Mariko, a mysterious Christian noblewoman and the last of a disgraced line. Cosmo Jarvis (“Raised by Wolves“) plays John Blackthorne, captain of a marooned ship found outside a nearby village. Tadanobu Asano, Fumi Nikaido, Tokuma Nishioka, Takehiro Hira, Ako, Shinnosuke Abe, Yasunari Takeshima, Hiroto Kanai, Toshi Toda, Hiro Kanagawa, Néstor Carbonell, Yuki Kura, Tommy Bastow, Moeka Hoshi, Yoriko Doguchi, and Yuka Kouri also star.

    Rachel Kondo and Justin Marks created this series, which will be 10 episodes.

    “Shōgun” will release on Hulu in February 2024. Check out the trailer now:
