Turning 100 is no small feat, and Rage Against The Machine guitarist Tom Morello’s mom may have had the most unique centenarian celebration, ever. In honor of the legendary Mary Morello‘s birthday, Jack Black and a band of extremely talented 12 and 13-year-olds performed the Black Sabbath classic, “Mr. Crowley.”

The performance got even cooler than a real-life reenactment of the 2003 movie “School of Rock.” During the song, there are some blistering solos by a guitarist, who is Morello’s son Roman. Mary’s grandson even channels Jimi Hendrix at one point and plays behind his back. The backing band also includes drummer Yoyoka, bassist Roya Feliz, and keyboardist Hugo Weiss.

The performance of “Mr. Crowley” took place on October 1st. But Tom just shared the video of the truly one-of-a-kind cover on October 3rd. “Mary Morello’s 100th bday celebration featured a stirring rendition of @ozzyosbourne & #RandyRhoads ‘Mr. Crowley’ performed by @jackblack and a kick ass band of 12 & 13 year olds! Mary was pleased!” he wrote.

Morello’s mother has always been a champion for civil rights, free speech, and unions, among other causes. Even founding the anti-censorship group Parents for Rock and Rap in 1987. So it’s only fitting a performance for her birthday is as unique and powerful as she is.

Hitting 100 also doesn’t seem to be slowing Mary down in fighting for what she believes in. She was recently spotted alongside her son as he performed “Hold the Line” in honor of the first unionized strip club in the US. As well as standing on the picket line for strikeing hotel wokers just two days before her birthday.

We wish Mary a very happy belated birthday. You can check out a video of this insane performance below:
