Everyone’s favorite pineapple dwelling sponge is making his way back to supermarket shelves. Kraft has announced they’re bringing back the Spongebob SquarePants Mac & Cheese shapes this October nationwide.

The classic SpongeBob, Squidward, Patrick, and Gary shapes are back in the classic blue box and Easy Mac cups. “Whether you’re reveling in the nostalgia comfort and memories of the SpongeBob SquarePants Shapes provide or trying this delicious new shape for the first time, Kraft Mac & Cheese invites you to put yourself first by proudly choosing what makes you feel good, inside and out,” a news release said.

The pasta shapes inspired by the residents of Bikini Bottom first hit shelves in the early 2000s. In 2019, Kraft confirmed the product was being discontinued. Fans launched a social media based petition, advocating for the beloved product to come back. Kraft did bring back a limited quantity of the Spongebob shapes in 2020, and are now officially relaunching the product.

We have to say, there was no better feeling than having a box of Spongebob Mac & Cheese in the early 2000s. Kraft has done so many shapes to keep kids interested in the brand over the years. Even now there are “Paw Patrol” and Unicorn shapes marketed for children’s interest.

“SpongeBob SquarePants” is still going strong, despite the passing of series creator Stephen Hillenburg in 2018. Two spinoffs have spawned in 2021 with “The Patrick Star Show” and “Kamp Koral.” The series is set to come back with their season 13 closer on October 31st, 2023, with season 14 beginning November 2nd.
