    Bridging Cultural Gaps: The Power and Necessity of Video Translation

    Modern society consumes content not through books, pictures, or audio – the rise of modern Internet platforms paves the way to the decisive role of video content. The popularity of YouTube and TikTok made these platforms a well-known phenomenon among people and turned them into a tool for marketing and advertisement.

    Reasons to Incorporate Video Translators

    The common conception tells us that English is a language of international and intercultural communication. It is not entirely true when we touch upon the Internet side of things. The 10 most common languages account for around 77% of users, but only about 26% of the whole Internet users’ number speak English.

    It shows that even the most widespread language is not enough to satisfy the needs of modern users. It is therefore vital for content creators to provide for users, who speak different languages. Organizations, channels, and individual creators that provide video in multiple languages, achieve the following benefits:

    • boost their audience organically – modern search engines value organic approaches to reaching one’s content, appearing in a multilingual search is a great way to both cover a wider range of keywords and improve content ranking;
    • increase viewing time – having subtitles and transcriptions in multiple languages facilitates users’ engagement, enhancing average viewing time;
    • boost the return on investment – creating video content is a time-consuming task, making multilingual videos can be reused more in national social networks and platforms, covering a wider audience.

    Video Translator Converters and Other Means of Language Translation Video

    There are a number of approaches to adapting videos for international use, including:

    • making subtitles – one of the easier ways to increase accessibility, requires specific software in order to create an SRT file;
    • making a transcription – an alternative to making subtitles, doesn’t necessarily require specific software in order to create a file, may be time-consuming;
    • making on-screen translation – another alternative to subtitles, suitable only for short videos and is not self-sufficient;
    • making a voice-over – including professional or amateur dubbing requires a professional team and access to a recording studio.

    Some adapting ways may be automated by video translator converters. It saves effort and time for content creators since the manual process may take additional time due to proofreading. Modern AI technologies provide “good-enough” raw transcription that is later turned into an SRT file or edited. The ability to translate into a wide range of languages saves the efforts of translators since they can work with video content straight away.

    Strategy to Implement Language Translators in Video

    Before starting the translation process, it is important to consider one’s budget. Content creators have to keep in mind that a lower budget does not necessarily result in worse quality. A limited budget can be used to create for subtitles only – thus the video will still be in original and subtitles in a particular language will ensure better engagement by a target audience. Larger budgets can be used for dubbing and translating on-screen text bits.

    Content creators have to keep in mind the goal of creating their videos. Sometimes subtitles are enough, for example, when simple instruction videos are provided. If the content conveys specific messages or ideas, dubbing may be a better, but more expensive solution.

    Considering the needs of the creator’s audience is also important in using language translation in videos. For instance, content for children has to be dubbed and on-screen text has to be translated. Subtitles will not be sufficient since small children can’t read quickly enough.

    Rask AI: an Example of a Video Translator

    While working with a professional team of translators and editors provides good results, their services are required mostly while working with films or large-scale content. It is more cost-efficient to work with video translators for individual content creators.

    Rask AI is an example of a tool that provides a set of services for providing greater video accessibility. In particular, the platform has an AI-powered video translator that works with more than 130 languages.

    The process of translation is simple. A creator has to upload the content. The source language can be both chosen and autodetected. The target language is chosen from a given range. After that, the ready-made translation is a click away.

    Video translator tools can be used by the creators of entertainment, educational, or business fields. While these kinds of content carry significant value, professional dubbing is optional. Subtitles make videos more engaging for the respected audience.

    Content creators can also use additional tools for their needs: adding subtitles or extracting transcription. They can try the platform for free and choose one of 4 paid packages afterward. They range in the number of accessible tools and minutes available to work with. There are individual plans available for large-scale enterprises.
