The BBC just relaeaed the lastest trailer for the three 60th annivsary specials of their beloved sci-fi series “Doctor Who.” On top of the returning legacey cast, we’ll also be treated to a villanious Neil Patrick Harris!
These specials will see the return of the 14th Doctor (David Tennant), alongside his companion Donna Noble (Catherine Tate). The duo originally portrayed these characters from 2005 to 2010. But they aren’t the only “Doctor Who” legacy characters returning to the series.
Harris will portray The Toymaker, an all-powerful enemy who was last seen on the series in 1966. Kate Lethbridge-Stewart (Jemma Redgrave) will also be returning as Chief Scientific Officer and Head of UNIT.
But the 60th anniversary of “Doctor Who” won’t just be about looking back at the past. During the airing of the three specials, the first episode with the 15th Doctor (Ncuti Gatwa) will also premiere. Making this anniversary just as much about the future of the series as it is celebrating what its already accomplished.
And this “is just the start, as the fever starts to burn,” promises Showrunner Russell T Davie. “We’re heading for a November full of Doctor Who surprises, for fans and new viewers alike. Stay alert!”
