FX has released the first trailer for its anthology horror series “American Horror Story: Delicate.” This will be the 12th season of the show and it’s already set to be ground-breaking in several ways.

“Delicate” will be the first season of “AHS” to be based on a novel, Danielle Valentine’s “Delicate Condition.” The book is a thriller about a pregnant actress, who will be played by series regular Emma Roberts. During her pregnancy, she becomes convinced that a sinister figure is going to great lengths to make sure she never comes to term.

Valentine’s novel is already being hailed as a feminist update to Ira Levin‘s 1967 book “Rosemary’s Baby.” Which was famously turned into a movie directed by Roman Polanski the following year.

Not only does “Delicate” break the “AHS” mold in terms of source material. It will also co-star series newcomers Kim Kardashian and Cara Delevingne. The cast will also include Matt Czuchry, Billie Lourd, Denis O’Hare, Leslie Grossman, and Michaela Jaé Rodriguez.

“Delicate” will also be the first season not run by series co-creators/producers Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk. Instead, Halley Feiffer will be serving as writer, director, and showrunner for the 12th season.

The “AHS” spin-off, “American Horror Stories” will be airing a four-episode Huluween event on October, 26th. There is still no word on if it will be part of the upcoming season, or it’s own self-contained entity.

“AHS” season 12 will be split up into two parts, with the first premiering on FX, September 20th, and released on Hulu the following day. There is currently no set release date for when the second half of  “Delicate” will premier.
