Danish-Norwegian Europop band Aqua is gearing up for a fall tour across the United States, appropriately named the “Barbie” World Tour. Many fans were disappointed when the 1997 hit song “Barbie Girl” wasn’t a needle drop in the billion-dollar “Barbie” movie. It was featured in another song for the film, “Barbie World,” by Ice Spice and Nicki Minaj.

The tour is stopping at several major American cities, like New Orleans, Boston, Chicago, Las Vegas, and more. Live Nation will be holding a pre-sale for tickets on Monday, August 28th, 2023. General sale for tickets will begin on Wednesday, August 30th. Now every “Barbie Girl” can party like they’re back in 1997 again!

Aqua’s “Aquarium” | Universal Music Group

Aqua reissued their debut album, “Aquarium,” for the 25th anniversary last year. The 3x Platinum album sold 3 million certified copies in the United States. [Get your copy here]. We promise not to judge anyone buying this album for the one, single, hit song.

Fun Fact: Mattel sued Aqua’s record label over the song, believing the lyrics would taint the brand image. A judge dismissed the case, as the song was clearly meant as a parody and the music video contained none of the toy. Mattel appealed the decision twice, even taking it up to the U.S. Supreme Court, but the ruling was never changed.

    Aqua “Barbie World Tour” Dates

Aqua’s “Barbie World Tour” is set to kick off in Seattle on November 12th, 2023 at the Paramount Theater. The tour will wrap up on December 20th at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles. Tickets can be purchased from Ticketmaster here. Tickets will also be available for purchase on StubHub.

All we can say is, “Come on Barbie, let’s go party!”
