Italy Offers Colosseum for Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg Fight

We wish we were making this up, but the Italian government has publicly offered the Colosseum for the upcoming ‘fight’ between Twitter CEO (is he still?) Elon Musk and META CEO Mark Zuckerberg. HOWEVER, the Ministry of Culture has issued a statement refuting this, stating they did NOT offer such a thing. But, TMZ continues to fight back, siting numerous sources who indicate otherwise.

“There has been no formal contact from the ministry nor any written document, even if the news appears tasty it is unfounded,” a statement from the Ministry of Culture reads. “If Zuckerberg and Musk wanted to perform in the Colosseum they would have to make a non-violent challenge.”

TMZ insists their sources say the Ministry reached out to Mark Zuckerberg, then to UFC President Dana White. They also claim there was a follow-up and a call was set for next week. TMZ is adamant someone at the Ministry reached out BECAUSE of the fight challenge.

We think the offer from someone in the Ministry happened, mostly due to Musk’s tweet about it from yesterday.

Mary Anne Butler (Mab) has been part of the fast-paced world of journalism since she was 15, getting her start in album reviews and live concert coverage for a nationally published (print) music magazine. She eventually transitioned to online media, writing for such sites as UGO/IGN, ComicsOnline, Geek Magazine, Ace of Geeks, Aggressive Comix (where she is still Editor-in-Chief), Bleeding Cool (where she was News Editor), and now Nerdbot as Editor-In-Chief. Over the past 10 years, she’s built a reputation at conventions across the globe as a cosplayer (occasionally), photographer (constantly), panelist and moderator (mostly), and reporter (always). Interviews, reviews, observations, breaking news, and objective reporting are the name of the game for the founder of Harkonnen Knife Fight, a Dune-themed band with an international presence. Though she be but little, she is fierce.
