Earlier this week, photojournalist John Schreiber shared a video of a rather unusual pink house in Malibu, California. The home, surrounded by picturesque landscape, stood out so much that Schreiber spotted it from 10 miles away! From the aerial shots he obtained, we can clearly see a water slide and balloons spelling out “Ken” floating in the pool.
Given the house’s features (and the current avalanche of promotion for the upcoming “Barbie” movie), people quickly assumed it had something to do with the Greta Gerwig-directed film, whether it be a publicity stunt or the actual film’s shooting location. Because it does look A LOT like the set tour star Margot Robbie gave last week, albeit with Ken (Ryan Gosling) touches.

But much to everyone’s surprise, a bit of digging revealed it was neither of those things. Apparently, this is an Airbnb listing that was launched in 2019 called Barbie’s Malibu Dreamhouse. The home is a glamorous real-world recreation of Barbie’s iconic pink dreamhouse.
There is bad news and good news. The bad news is the Malibu Dreamhouse was taken off the rental market some time ago. Seemingly due to renovations, our guess is it wasn’t pink enough. The good news is that Airbnb just announced the newly “ken-ified” dreamhouse will be back available again next month!

This is all being done under the guise of Ken renting out the place while Barbie is away. The Malibu Dreamhouse comes with several features to help you live out your best Barbie Land fantasy, including:
- A spin through Ken’s awesome wardrobe to find your best beach fit. While this closet may not be magic, it’s apparently got a good selection.
- An outdoor disco dance floor to learn a line dance or do a sunset serenade on Ken’s guitar
- It’s near the water so its perfect for a “beach off,” sunbathing, and chillaxing by the infinity pool.
- Taking home a piece of Kendom with your very own set of yellow-and-pink Impala skates and surfboard
- A concierge that will ensure a comfortable stay for you and your guests – including showing you around and setting out/arranging meals.

As and added bonus Airbnb will make a one-time donation to Save the Children, in celebration of the “Barbie” movie. The listing is clear that this is a private residence. These one-night stays are not a contest and guests are responsible for their own travel to and from Malibu. You’ll be able to book a stay beginning July 17 at 10am (PT),
The “Barbie” movie hits theaters on July 21st.
