Bubble tea has been popular since the 90s, but it’s gotten a lot trendier in recent years. There’s not any major city where you can’t find a boba place every couple of blocks. We’re spoiled for choice when it comes to those tasty tapioca pearls. Apparently Jack in the Box wants to get in on this love for a drink you can chew. At specific locations, the fast food chain is gauging interest in their own bubble teas.

Granted, this seems to be an experiment. So their range of flavors isn’t particularly impressive. Safe options for those who might be new to bubble tea, or perhaps a cheaper option than the standard fare. Presently, there are only three options to choose from. Iced Coffee Boba, Milk Tea Boba, and a Vanilla Shake Boba.

The first two options are pretty common for most Boba establishments. Apparently coffee boba has become a lot more popular lately. No surprises there. All the yumminess of bubble tea, while also getting your caffeine for the day? Sign us up. But that vanilla shake with boba actually sounds pretty tasty. And a little more novel than the standard fare. Everyone loves a topping for their ice cream. And having the chewy texture of a tapioca pearl seems like a delicious option.

Unfortunately, if you’re wanting to try these out, Jack-in-the-Box is only providing these in a handful of test locations. You can currently find the items in San Diego, Long Beach, and Torrance. But, hey, some people will go a long way for some delicious bubble tea. You can read Uproxx’s review of the items here.
