Embracing the Way of the Nerd

Do you have a huge book collection? Are you someone who doesn’t care about going with the flow? Is spending your time looking up the latest technological trends and upcoming video games? If so, then you’re hereby classified as a nerd. A nerd is someone that’s often given a bad rep all the way back in middle school for their supposed know-it-all attitude. However, nerds are typically some of the smartest people around, and you should be proud of that. If you’re struggling with being a nerd or you’re someone who wants to be one, you’ve come to the right place. In this article, we’ll be going over how to embrace the way of the nerd.

    Master a Certain Field

Nerds are notoriously thought of those who are solely into technology and comic books. Sure, there are quite a few of those, but that’s not all that encompasses a nerd. Some of the best jobs for nerds exist outside these spaces and a nerd can be involved in any field just like any other person. They are masters of their craft and dedicate themselves to learning everything about it down to the tiniest detail. You can be a nerd in graphic design, journalism, history, engineering, and even animals. Take your time deciding where you see yourself and work towards building up your credentials.

    Always Be Prepared

Another way you can embrace the way of the nerd is to always be prepared. Whether it’s for a potential scenario at work or for an emergency in your personal life, nerds always have a backup plan. They also plan by taking necessary precautions. Take finances as money can disappear when you least expect it to. The reasons for this are almost limitless, but that doesn’t you can’t secure yourself. Financial security is difficult to build on your own, which is why many look to external sources.

One of the best ways to get some easy financial security is to take out a personal loan. Personal loans can be used anything that comes to mind. You can use it to go on a vacation, fund a wedding, or simply keep it for later. Aside from having access to a lump sum of cash, getting a personal loan also helps you build up credit. A stable credit is critical to living comfortably as it’s what dictates your ability to get a mortgage, rent an apartment, and apply for another loan or credit card. There are helpful online guides that cover everything you need to know about personal loans ranging from what they are and how they work.

    Let Your Curiosity Guide You

While everyone does have curiosity, no one is as inquisitive as a nerd. When something catches a nerd’s interest, they won’t stop until it’s satiated. They let their curiosity edify their mind with all sorts of interesting knowledge. You can do the same; if something interests you, immerse yourself in it until you’ve had enough.

    Become a Tutor

Nerds make amazing tutors. This is because they can literally answer every question people have with ease. If you’ve excelled in a certain course or skills, then passing what you know to others is a fantastic way to build your reputation as a tutor and get a career in teaching. You can do this in person or tutor online and on your own terms. Courses such as math, science, and history aren’t always easy for some. This is especially true when it comes to math. You can break down each question and equations in a simplified way, so it’s easier for the student to learn.

Take Part in Discussions and Debates

Another myth is that nerds are reclusive and anti-social. Remember what we said about how nerds don’t care about what’s trending and stay away from the flow? This doesn’t mean they’re anti-social; it just means they prefer to talk to like-minded people. Put a nerd in their comfort zone and they can talk for hours. This is why you should consider taking part in discussions about your hobbies, passions, and career. when you can talk freely.
