On June 10th, actress María Elena Ríos accused “Wakanda Forever” star Tenoch Huerta of being a sexual predator. Ríos posted on social media that Huerta had “abused his power and position as a well-respected actor.” Huerta has denied the claims.
“It’s very difficult to talk about the emotional abuse and the abuse of power of a sexual predator who is loved around the world for playing a character in a movie such as Tenoch Huerta,” Ríos wrote. Huerta released a lengthy statement via his Instagram stories denying the allegations on June 12th, calling Ríos’ claims “false and unsubstantiated.”
The two had been in a relationship for approximately a year. According to Huerta, breaking up with Ríos caused a “flurry of misunderstandings” after the fact.
“Throughout it was a loving, warm and mutually supportive relationship. After it ended, however, Elena began to misrepresent our interactions both privately and in front of groups of mutual friends,” Huerta’s statement reads. “As a result, a few months ago, I engaged a legal team to commence the appropriate actions to protect my reputation and refute these irresponsible and false accusations that can cause great prejudice and damage.”
This makes two Marvel Studios leading men facing such charges. “Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania” star Jonathan Majors was arrested in March on charges of strangulation, assault, and harassment in a reported domestic dispute with his girlfriend.
