4 Reasons Why You Should Upgrade to Mesh WiFi

In the past few years, internet penetration has increased significantly, and so has our dependence on the internet. The internet has become an important part of our lives and has revolutionized the way we work, communicate, entertain, and access information. Due to this, a strong and reliable WiFi connection has become a necessity for the majority of people around the world.

Most people complain about their WiFi network not performing up to their expectations. This is so because the routers provided to users by their ISPs are not resilient enough to handle the growing network needs of today. When it comes to performance, coverage, reliability, and seamless connectivity, traditional routers have limitations. This is where mesh WiFi comes in.

Mesh WiFi is the latest iteration in wireless routers that employs multiple access points to create a seamless and reliable wireless network throughout a home or office. Unlike a traditional wireless router, which relies on a single router to provide wireless coverage, mesh WiFi systems use multiple nodes or access points to ensure optimal coverage and performance. In today’s article, we will explore some of the reasons why you should upgrade to Mesh WiFi and ditch your wireless routers of yesterday.

    1. Improved Coverage and Range

The primary reason why you should switch over to Mesh WiFi is its ability to provide extended coverage. Compared to a traditional wireless router, mesh WiFi has improved coverage and range thanks to multiple nodes that are strategically placed throughout the home. Traditional routers often struggle to reach every corner of the house, resulting in dead zones and weak signals throughout various areas of the home.

A mesh WiFi uses multiple access points, called nodes. These nodes are interconnected with each other to create a mesh network that can cover every room, floor, and corner of your home, so that you receive a strong and consistent WiFi network throughout your home. With mesh WiFi, you won’t have to worry about dead zones or weak signals anymore.

    2. Enhanced Performance and Speed

Along with coverage and range, mesh WiFi is also better than traditional routers in terms of speed and performance. When it comes to speed and performance, mesh WiFi outperforms traditional wireless routers. With a traditional router, the signal strength and performance of the network start to degrade as you move away from the router. Whereas with mesh WiFi, this is not something you have to worry about.

A mesh WiFi uses multiple access points to ensure a consistent connection throughout the home. This translates into faster internet speed and a better-performing network, making activities like downloading, online gaming, and streaming more enjoyable.

    3. Simplified Network Management

Some of you might think that since mesh WiFi consists of multiple access points, managing all of them might be a complex and time-consuming process. However, managing mesh WiFi is just like managing any other wireless router through the default gateway address, such as 192.168.0.1. Configuring the WiFi settings for a single access point configures it for all access points, meaning that you don’t have to manage multiple access points.

Additionally, the setup process of mesh WiFi is similar to traditional routers and is pretty straightforward. You can set up the WiFi and access all the settings through the dedicated mobile app, as well as through the web interface 192.168.1.1, like a traditional wireless router. This provides a hassle-free experience, even for someone who is not tech-savvy.

    4. Scalable and Expandable Technology

Traditional routers have another limitation: you cannot scale and expand them when required. As our reliance on the internet continues to increase, it is crucial to have a network that can scale and expand with our growing needs. Unfortunately, traditional wireless routers don’t have any features to accommodate the increasing number of devices connected to the network, but mesh WiFi does.

Mesh WiFi provides a scalable solution and allows you to easily expand the capacity of your wireless network by adding additional nodes. You can add multiple new nodes to accommodate new devices. Each node acts as an access point, allowing you to extend the coverage of your network and accommodate an increasing number of devices without hindering performance.
