Barbie and Ken Get Arrested in New “Barbie” Trailer

Greta Gerwig‘s “Barbie” continues to be one of the more anticipated films of the year. We’re not quite sure why, but there is something compelling about each of the teasers and trailers we’ve seen so far. Maybe it’s the color palette, maybe it’s the attention to detail (when Barbie steps out of her shoes, her feet maintain that signature tiptoe point). Or maybe it’s all Kate McKinnon as the Crazy Barbie. WHO KNOWS.

In THIS trailer, Barbie and Ken get arrested, after she understandably throws a punch at a jerk who slaps her plastic ass.

The film stars Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling as Barbie and Ken, respectively. It ALSO stars America Ferrera, McKinnon, Issa Rae (“Insecure”), Rhea Perlman, and Will Ferrell. Michael Cera, Ariana Greenblatt, Ana Cruz Kayne (“Little Women”), Emma Mackey (“Sex Education”), Hari Nef, Alexandra Shipp, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Simu Liu (“Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings”), Ncuti Gatwa (“Sex Education”), Scott Evans, Jamie Demetriou (“Cruella”), Connor Swindells , Sharon Rooney, Nicola Coughlan, Ritu Arya, Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter Dua Lipa, and Oscar-winner Helen Mirren are also on cast.

“Barbie” hits theaters July 21st, 2023.

Mary Anne Butler (Mab) has been part of the fast-paced world of journalism since she was 15, getting her start in album reviews and live concert coverage for a nationally published (print) music magazine. She eventually transitioned to online media, writing for such sites as UGO/IGN, ComicsOnline, Geek Magazine, Ace of Geeks, Aggressive Comix (where she is still Editor-in-Chief), Bleeding Cool (where she was News Editor), and now Nerdbot as Editor-In-Chief. Over the past 10 years, she’s built a reputation at conventions across the globe as a cosplayer (occasionally), photographer (constantly), panelist and moderator (mostly), and reporter (always). Interviews, reviews, observations, breaking news, and objective reporting are the name of the game for the founder of Harkonnen Knife Fight, a Dune-themed band with an international presence. Though she be but little, she is fierce.
