Philippou Brothers’ “Talk To Me” Gets Trailer, Release Date from A24

A24 continues to be a pioneer of the fresh, quirky, and spooky. Their next horror venture “Talk To Me” looks to be wonderfully creepy. This is the first film made by brothers Danny and Michael Philippou. If they sound familiar, they should! The two are the hosts of the YouTube channel RackRacka. While the channel is famous for its horror comedy videos, this is a venture into the terrifying.

Horror’s no stranger to artifacts one ought not touch. So, naturally, the touching absolutely occurs. This looks to be like a variation on the monkey’s paw a little bit. An embalmed hand has connections to the spirit world, becoming a popular party game amongst English teens. Naturally, fooling around and finding out happens, when one of them goes a little too far. Opening a door to forces that might be unwilling to go back where they came from.

Starring Sophia Wilde, Joe Bird, Alexandra Jensen, Otis Dhanji, Miranda Otto, and more, it looks to be a film of epic, ghostly proportions. The amateur filmmakers disappeared from Youtube for a year while they worked on their full-length film. In February, they uploaded a video announcing they’d been accepted into the Sundance Film Festival, which is about as prestigious as you can get with an indy film.

The Aussies filmed every second of their experience at the festival, including getting messages from Hollywood horror greats like Jordan Peele, Arin Aster, and even Steven Spielberg. On top of that, they filmed the news A24 had bought their movie to distribute. This is a life-changing moment for everyone involved.

We cannot wait to watch it July 28th, 2023.
