The “Mean Girls” musical continues to add notable actors to its cast. The newest addition is Jon Hamm as bumbling PE teacherm Coach Carr. If you’re familiar with the film, Coach Carr is the gym teacher played by Dwayne Hill. Not only the PE teacher, but also beyond incompetent when it comes to teaching sex-ed. Hamm seems a pretty perfect fit for the character. For all the suaveness on “Madmen,” we know just how much of a ham Hamm can be. So he’ll no doubt kill it.

Hamm joins a big cast. Angourie Rice will be taking on Lindsey Lohan‘s role as Cady, Auli’i Cravalho as Janis, Jaquel Spivey as Damien, and Reneé Rapp as Regina. Tina Fay and Tim Meadows, however, will be reprising their respective roles as Ms. Norbury and Principal Duval. And producer Lorne Michaels will be returning to work alongside Fay to make the musical a success.

For those new to the plot, “Mean Girls” is a coming-of-age story that centers around Cady Heron. After moving from Africa with her parents, Cady tries to navigate a new school. Falling in with a clique called The Plastics, Cady’s swept up in the dynamics of teenage social hierarchy. Consequently, getting into tons of trouble. The movie is primarily about how being someone your not can hurt yourself and others. It’s a movie that grossed $128 million at the box office. On top of being an incredibly popular film, the quotes continue to be memed heavily.

The musical will be streaming on Paramount+, with Samantha Jayne and Arturo Perez Jr. to direct. Choreography will be by Kyle Hanagami, with music and lyrics by Jeff Richmond and Nell Benjamin.
