Meet Copilot: Clippy’s Replacement Microsoft AI Helper

If you remember Clippy, you’re probably old like me.If you’re between the ages of 20-100, you’re probably super busy planning and doing things everyday. Clippy was hilariously bad at helping us do projects like party invitations and school reports, Microsoft’s replacement AI helper Copilot swoops in and becomes our hero.

“Humans are hard-wired to dream, to create, to innovate. But today, we spend too much time consumed by the drudgery of work, on tasks that zap our time, creativity, and energy,” Microsoft said. “To reconnect to the soul of our work, we don’t just need a better way of doing the same things. We need a whole new way to work.”

Here are a few simple ways these new features will help you during the workday:

    • Unblock Creativity.
      • Not sure where to begin? Copilot in Word can help start a first draft or offer edits to existing work for clarity, conciseness and tone – saving you hours in writing, sourcing and editing time!
    • Kickstart a Beautiful PowerPoint Presentation.
      • With a single prompt, Copilot in PowerPoint can pull relevant content from your documents, meetings notes, or public data to create & design a presentation in no time.
    • Never Take Meeting Notes Again.
      • Keep your team organized with Copilot in Microsoft Teams, which can summarize key meeting discussion points—including who said what, where people are aligned and where they disagree—and suggest action items, all in real time during a meeting.
    • Create Visuals Quickly.
      • With Copilot in Excel, you can analyze data trends and produce professional-looking visuals in a matter of seconds. Perfect for a last-minute meeting request!

One of the points they make in the highlights video of other ways they can help you is by throwing an amazing graduation party. You can create an email to guests and Copilot will not only help you draft one up with you only entering a few details, it will also take information from the venue email that you received and put important information within it. That’s really smart!

If you want to do a slideshow in PowerPoint, Copilot is there too. It can help you choose a theme as well as pull some of the best images saved to your one drive of the person the party is for. It’s truly amazing AI.

But the options are truly endless!
