    How to Recover Deleted or Lost Files?

    In today’s digital era, we rely heavily on technology for storing and accessing important files, such as photos, documents, videos, and more. Unfortunately, while technology makes our lives easier, it also comes with the risk of losing data due to accidental deletion or file corruption. Fortunately, there are ways to recover deleted or lost files, both free and paid. In this article, we will discuss some of the free ways to recover deleted or lost files and show you how to recover deleted files using a professional deleted file recovery software like Yodot. 

    3 Simple Ways to Recover Deleted or Lost Files: 

    • Check the Recycle Bin or Trash
    • Use File History or Time Machine
    • Use a Professional Data Recovery Software

    Method 1: Recover Deleted Files from the Recycle Bin

    If you have deleted a file and it’s still in the Recycle Bin, you can quickly recover it by following these steps:

    • Double-click on the Recycle Bin icon on your desktop
    • Locate the file you want to recover in the Recycle Bin
    • Right-click on the file and select “Restore” from the context menu

    The file will be restored to its original location before it is deleted.

    If you accidentally emptied the Recycle Bin, the deleted files will be permanently removed from your computer. Try to recover them using recover files using File History. If you have not enabled File History, you can skip the following method and use data recovery software. 

    Method 2: Use File History 

    Windows has a built-in file history feature that allows you to back up and restore files. If you have enabled File History and backed up your files, you can quickly recover files from it. Follow the below mentioned steps to recover files from File History on Windows:

    • Open the “File Explorer” and go to the folder where the deleted or lost file was located
    • Click on the “History” button in the ribbon at the top of the window
    • A new pop up window will open with a list of files backed up by File History. Use the arrows on the right side of the window to navigate to the backup point where the file is still present
    • Once you have found the file or folder you want to recover, select it and click on the “Restore” button
    • If the file was located in a folder, you could also restore the entire folder by selecting it and clicking on the “Restore” button

    The restored files will be saved to their original location.

    If you cannot find files or folders you are looking for in the File History backup, you may need to check previous backup points. To do this, click on the “Back” button in the File History window and navigate to an earlier backup point.

    While the above methods are helpful, they may only sometimes be effective. This is where Yodot File Recovery Software comes in.

    • Once the scanning is complete, you can preview the recovered files.
    • Choose the files you want to recover, click on the Save to recover them to a new location on your computer

The above methods, such as checking the Recycle Bin, using File History, and using data recovery software, are all effective to a certain extent.
