Recording artist and actress Janelle Monáe may have won Halloween. Not only did she have an absolutely stellar costume, but she also was able to bring an extra element. A “Fifth Element,” if you will.
In Luc Besson‘s 1997 science fiction film, Maïwenn Le Besco (body) and Inva Mula (voice) give life to a very important character, Diva Plavalaguna. The blue-hued opera singer puts on a concert, but also literally conceals a key plot point- the Mondoshawan elemental stones.

Monáe understood the assignment, and even sang!
Knowing it takes a village, Monáe also thanked the team behind her incredible look.
