Korn frontman Jonathan Davis is launching a line of pet products called Freak on a Leash, fittingly named after one of the nu-metal pioneers’ biggest hits. Davis describes the line as a premium products are created for all, paying homage to the horror and rock music we love. This line of pet gear is made in partnership with promoter Danny Wimmer.

Freak on a Leash will officially launch on October 28th of this year but already had a preview at a special tent during the Aftershock festival in Sacramento, CA. A portion of proceeds sold at the festival and during the web store launch will be donated to the Take Me Home organization. Take Me Home was founded in 2001, and is a National animal rescue foundation with volunteers spearheading lifesaving Spay and Neuter Programs across the US. They have also partnered with Danny Wimmer Presents in the past for their Rock Out For Rescue! events. In which they go to rock festivals and assist with spay/neuter and adoption outreach.

The first line of Freak on a Leash products includes leashes, collars, and toys designed by Davis himself. All of the items are made with high-quality gunmetal hardware, leather, nylon, and plushies. When asked about product testing, Davis said “Oh yeah, we had to test them. I wanted to make sure that they were quality, because there’s a lot of crap stuff out there. The feedback has been amazing.” He later referred to it all as “a labor of love.”

Although he is a devoted animal lover, Davis is actually allergic to dogs. “Yes, I’m severely asthmatic, but I love them so much that I just deal,” Davis revealed. “Occasionally I have to get my inhaler or my eyes are itching, but over time I get used to it and I can live with it.” But the singer looks forward to potentially expanding Freak on a Leash beyond just dog apparel depending on how this line sells. “If it’s really successful, we’re going to do collections. I wanted to do collabs with some of my friends, and do really dope looking petwear — harnesses, coats, dog beds, dog bowls, cat bowls. I’ll do bird stuff. Fish shit. The sky’s the limit!”
