Valorant Lan Event Makes Japan Esports Crowd Go Wild

Japan is a developed country enjoying digital transformation in gaming and other sectors. The country is a market leader in the video game industry, with a market estimated to be $116 million in 2022.

Gamers enjoy different games like League of Legends, CSGO, and more. However, there is a new game – Valorant, by Riot Games Company, gaining popularity in Japan and beyond. The game allows players to defend their sides using sharp gunplay and tactical abilities.

Recently, the Saitama Super Arena in Japan held one of the most significant Valorant events. The arena hosted the Valorant Champions Tour: Japan Stage 2 Challengers Playoff live event. Over 13,000 live esports supporters attended this event. Additionally, thousands of followers watched the event online on Twitch and other platforms.

One Big Valorant Tournament in Saitama Super Arena

Saitama Super Arena is well known for hosting significant martial arts events. Additionally, it is one of the best arenas for boxers, MMA fighters, and basketball players. But surprisingly, between 10th and 26th June, one big Valorant tournament took center stage.

Although the stadium could only operate at half capacity, the tournament was viewed by over 86,000 fans online. Most fans followed the tournament on Twitch. All the fans in the arena and online were eager to support their favorite teams. Competing teams never went home empty-handed. They fought for a share of the $14,701 prize pool. The finest teams went home smiling.

The excitement brought by the tournament has shown that the popularity of Valorant is growing fast among Japanese fans. The good thing is that it is rich in content and has attracted pro players from all corners of the world—also, esports fans from other parts of the world like the game.

This means that the game is getting exciting and competitive over time. It also creates an opportunity for gamblers to bet on the tournament as most bookmakers now include Valorant tournaments on their platforms.

Why is Valorant Gaining Popularity Fast?

The game is one of a kind as it allows gamers to compete on the global stage. Players or teams must showcase their gunplay and tactical abilities to defend their sides. To enjoy and win, you must choose your agent wisely to ensure your gunplay shines.

It is worth noting that the esport breaks the pattern of Riot as it contains much content that players can exploit during play. Also, the game has few players, meaning winners get higher profits. As a result, the game has attracted many pro players from other FPS.

    The Growing Japanese Esports Scene

Although many legal obstacles are blocking the growth and expansion of esports in Japan, the industry has defied all odds to grow and expand. Most attention has focused on multiplayer online trading card games and fighting games. But now, with the emergence of new esports like CSGO, Valorant, and more, the esports scene is growing and will keep attracting fans in Japan and beyond.
