    6 Similarities Between Spanish and English

    English is an international language and you need to know this language if you want to crack success or any dream of yours.     Same Letters:

    If you are about to learn English and Spanish then you must know some similar words of these 2 languages. It will help you to relate and connect more with everything whenever you are talking to anyone. The Spanish alphabet has 27 letters as the same English alphabet . Some same letters between Spanish and English are-

    F, K, L, M, N, P, Q, S, W, X and Y. 

    These are virtually identical in both English and Spanish. Sometimes, B and G are similar in the whole case they are different. If you learn these all then you will get to know how helpful all these were. 

    A Lot of Words in Common:

    As both of the languages have the same letters, it also has some same words. If you learn those common words then it will be much easier to talk in English or Spanish. 30% to 40% of all words in English have a related word in Spanish. Let us see almost the same words in English and Spanish. In English- exact, pact, impact, perfect, and contact.  In spanish- exacto, pacto, impacto, perfecto, and contacto. 

    Both of the languages have some more similar words. If you are about to learn English and Spanish then research about these similar words because it is very helpful when you are learning one or more than one languages. 

    Similar Syntax / Word Order:

    Spanish and English are very similar if we think about its syntax. Both of the languages use the Roman alphabet. The word order of Spanish is very similar to English word order. English and Spanish both follow the SVO pattern. This knowledge will help you build a phonemic and phonological foundation. As we already know, they have 30% to 40% similar languages between English and Spanish.

You should learn similar words in English and Spanish because it helps a lot and you will not have to face shortening of words when you are speaking. 

    Pluralization:

    To make things clear or easy, every language uses plurals whenever they need them. It’s about using “s” or “es” at the end of the word. We know that the noun changes in its plural form. It’s like if the noun stays in front of an adjective then the noun must be pluralized. We can say that, Pluralizing adjectives and pluralizing nouns are usually the same. In Spanish an example is- El gato nergo- los gatos nergos (masculine), and la rosa roja- las rosas rojas (femine). 

    Contractions:

    In English we can find dozens of contractions but in Spanish there are only a few. They are a handful but still they exist. An example of contraction being used in a sentence- este cuarto es profesor  (This is the professor’s room) (Literally: this room is of the professor). Al is a contraction that comes from a+el. For learning any language you must need to know about contractions. 

    Capitalization/ Punctuation:

    Punctuation or capitalization makes it easier to understand anything. Few Spanish capitalization rules are the same as English are- the first word of a sentence, proper nouns, titles but in most cases, it is just a first word. 

    Knowing the use of punctuation is also important when you are learning a language. These are some similarities. Crack all of these and shine.
