Netflix’s “The Chosen One” lost two actors in a fatal car crash Thursday, June 16th. This accident was not on set, but occurred while transporting cast and crew to the local airport. Two actors were killed, two actors and four crew members were injured and hospitalized. Those who were hospitalized are said to be in stable condition. The local media reported the transport van flipped after running off the road in the desert.
Raymundo Garduño Cruz and Juan Francisco González Aguilar have been identified as the deceased. They were being transported from Santa Rosalia in a van near the city of Mulegé on the Baja California Sur peninsula.
“The Chosen One” is an adaptation of the comic book series “American Jesus” by writer Mark Millar and artist Peter Gross. It follows a 12-year-old boy who finds out he’s Jesus Christ reincarnated. He has biblical powers, and his destiny is to save humankind. The show will have two primary languages, English and Spanish.
Netflix has not commented on the situation. Redrum has paused production on the project has for the time being. There is an ongoing investigation into what caused this accident.
